Leeds United

Blackburn Rovers 1- Leeds United 3

Leeds United are one step closer.

After the disappointment of the Luton game, we were looking for a response from the team and they delivered it.

Outclassing Blackburn Rovers in every way possible yesterday afternoon and strengthening our promotion hopes furthermore.

It was a high tempo start with both sides having early chances, however it didn’t take long for Leeds to take the lead with a clinical strike from Patrick Bamford on 7 minutes. A goal which I’m sure calmed a few nerves!

Leeds continued to press and increased the lead from a simply sublime free-kick on 40 minutes from Kalvin Philips. His second goal of the season and one which will be remembered for a long time.

The second half saw Blackburn get on the scoresheet with a goal from Adam Armstong, however a goal 5 minutes later from Mateusz Klich saw our two goal advantage quickly restored.

Further chances followed and Leeds sought a fourth, Barry Douglas going close with his free kick.

After being absent through injury for the majority of the season, it was good to see Douglas taking full advantage of his call up and fitted into the team seamlessly.

3-1 it finished and Leeds United brought all 3 points back to West Yorkshire, with 60% possession this was more like the Bielsa’s side we have become accustomed to this season.

Whilst the remaining 5 games, will no doubt bring more tension, nerves and drama, just 10 more points will secure our Premier League status.

Maybe, just maybe we can finally dare to dream.
