Preview Derby v Leeds

Leeds United 2-0 Huddersfield Town

We’ve seen so much over the last 15 years that it’s easy to understand why we wouldn’t start celebrating too early, but there comes a point when we have to accept that it’s finally happening.

In a time when all around us are faltering, we just keep marching on, together!

It took just over 2 minutes for Luke Ayling to open the scoring in spectacular fashion. His celebration possibly matching the excellence of the goal.

Leeds were on top for the majority of the game and never looked like conceding. Huddersfield had few chances but the gulf between the teams was clear to see. How times have changed since their last visit to Elland Road.

The second half started much like the first and Patrick Bamford got his goal on 51 minutes. It was a goal that he has deserved and there was a change in the crowd after that goal. There seemed to be an acceptance that this might be happening. The football gods are finally starting to shine on us and the football genius that is Marcelo Bielsa is taking us to the Premier League.

We are hearing of Bielsa’s training ground meeting following the defeat to Forest and whatever was said has worked. We have won 5 out of 5 without conceding whilst scoring 9 in the process since that day and are top of the Championship once again.

I wrote earlier in the season that I haven’t seen a team with this much spirit and togetherness for a very long time and it seems they are destined to become the team enshrined in club legend for taking us back to the Premier League.

There are still twists and turns but there are only 9 games left now and it’s surely only a matter of time!

In Bielsa we trust.
