We welcome Blackburn Rovers to Elland Road tomorrow, hoping to build on the momentum of last Saturday and get a second home win in as many weeks.
Who can forget the corresponding fixture on Boxing Day last year, when we fought back to score 2 goals in stoppage time and sent Elland Road into a frenzy.
I haven’t seen Elland Road like that in a very long time and whilst it would be nice, I doubt we will see the same tomorrow.
I predict we will stick with the same starting XI tomorrow, with the 4 injured players not yet ready for a return. The only change we may see is a start for Hernandez, but Bielsa does not like to change too much and he may want to ease him back gently and not run the risk of further injury.
Whilst we can never assume anything with Biesla, I’m hoping he sticks with the Roberts and Bamford formation.
Blackburn sit 16th in the Championship, despite a poor start to the season they secured first their win since mid-September against Sheffield Wednesday. As Marcelo Bielsa acknowledges, they are a side that likes to play and hopefully we can respond to that challenge tomorrow.
The Bamford goal is coming and with the international break looming, tomorrow could be the perfect time to score.
