Mick Sansome: #LeedsUnitedandMe

We all hold memories and associations with Leeds United and the club means different things to each one of us.

We begin our first in the series of #LeedsUnitedandMe by asking Michael Sansome a supporter for over 50 years that key question amongst others.

  1. What does Leeds United mean to you?

It means more than most things in life, I’ve supported Leeds United for over 50 years and it’s always played a key part in my life. I’ve had some fantastic experiences, from Champions League nights to Cup finals. Leeds United means everything.

2. Favourite Game?

Barcelona at home in the 1974-75 season, the atmosphere for that European Cup game was unbelievable.

3. Favourite Leeds United player of all time?

Billy Bremner

4. Favourite goal?

Allan Clarke when Leeds faced Arsenal in the 1972 FA Cup Final at Wembley, another amazing game and my first visit to Wembley.

5.Earliest Leeds United memory?

Watching the highlights from the 1968 League Cup Final, I was transfixed and I knew then Leeds United was the club for me.

6. Funniest Leeds United moment?

Away days in the mini buses, the travel to the game and back was sometimes more fun than the actual game! Lots of laughs and memories made!

Don Revie

8. Predictions for the next 5 years?

Promotion to the Premier League and hopefully stop up!
