Last year it was the game where it all went wrong, fast forward 9 months and it’s the game where it could all come together.
A win tomorrow would see us retain our place at the top of the championship, hopefully increase our points gap and turn the phrase “10 man Wigan” into insignificance.
After Tuesday’s comeback, the players should be in high spirits and hopefully ready to entertain Elland Road with a strong performance.
The starting XI is likely to remain unchanged, as we know Bielsa is very much in favour of keeping with the same side after a win. However it will be interesting to see if new signings Poveda and Augustine make an appearance.
We are once again without Kalvin Philips due to suspension and both Adam Forshaw and Barry Douglas miss out through injury.
Wigan have some injuries concerns of their own with Daniel Fox, Dujon Sterling and Michael Jacobs expected to miss out. Wigan are currently 22nd in the league and have only won 2 games out of their last 18.
However they are in a relegation battle and I fully expect them to test our stamina once again tomorrow.
But we have a point to prove, we let promotion slip away from us once and won’t be looking to do the same again.
In Bielsa and his boys we trust.
