Harrison and Roberts secure a 2-0 win over QPR

Coming away from the game yesterday, the Radio Leeds phone in seemed to revolve entirely around Patrick Bamford rather than the great performance we had just witnessed.

In typical Leeds style Eddie Nketiah required hospital treatment on Friday night, thankfully Patrick Bamford had recovered from his ankle injury. Whether Eddie would have started if he was fit is something we will never know.

For what it’s worth, I am very much in favour of Bamford starting. His game has improved so much since last season and he is now imposing his physical presence. Yes, he is suffering with a goal drought, but that will right itself and in the meantime, his overall contribution to the team is worth more.

In any case, we are second in the table with our main striker not scoring since August, so I’ll take that!

The actual game felt more like Leeds of last year, we were attacking from kick off and had plenty of chances early on.

Tyler Roberts came in for the injured Gjanni Alioksi with Stuart Dallas at left back, he adds another dimension to the team and offers another option in front of goal, which he showed with his strike on 39 minutes.

Jack Harrison was another standout player yesterday, with an assist for the Roberts goal and then getting one of his own 8 minutes before the end. A goal which settled the nerves and didn’t have us feeling nervously sick this time around!

The return of Pablo was great to see and very much welcomed by the crowd, hopefully Forshaw will follow in the next couple of weeks and Marcelo Bielsa will have the selection dilemmas most Championship managers can only dream of.
